There’s only one thing better than receiving a positive review from a happy candidate… And that’s a positive review from a happy candidate which highlights my USP of being a Recruiter “who just gets it” because I used to be a Marketer. 😊

Last week, I had the pleasure of witnessing something pretty cool between a client and a candidate. My client met someone super fab and instantly got it. They recognised her value straight away and, without hesitation, flexed on salary and job title to make the opportunity work. Not because they had to, but because they wanted to. Because they’re the kind of business that puts people first and understands the importance of building a role around the right person, not the other way around. On the flip side, my candidate had other offers on the table, some with bigger salaries, but the feels she got from this team were unmatched. She saw a shared vision, aligned values, and a genuine commitment to her future success. She felt heard, seen, and appreciated. And that made the decision an easy one. A win-win match made in marketing heaven! 😍 When clients are flexible and human, and candidates are open and intentional, great things happen. And I get to be the lucky one connecting the brightly coloured dots. I ❤️ my job!!!

Was I slightly unhinged? Possibly. Probably. Maybe. 😅 But here’s the thing, what I lacked in traditional experience, I made up for (tenfold!) in energy, passion, determination, and a deep understanding of the marketing world. This isn’t a “big I am” post. I’m not here to say I spotted a gap in the market or I’m here to reinvent recruitment. There are already some incredibly talented people doing brilliant work in this space, and I admire the hell out of them. (You know who you are!) But the person I’ve come to believe in and back the most… is actually, me. A couple of years ago, buried beneath the doubts, the “what ifs”, and the second-guessing, I found a spark of belief that I could do this. That I could build something of my own, and that it might just work. Now, I’m not saying I’ve “made it”, I’m still at the foot of the mountain and still very early on in my recruitment journey. But I am saying that I’ve hit the ground running. And people in the marketing and recruitment world are starting to take notice of little ‘ol me. Sure, I’ve had my fair share of doubters. The quiet critics, the raised eyebrows. But honestly? I just take that energy and belt out Beyoncé in the shower before another great day of connecting amazing marketers with incredible opportunities. What fuels me? - A genuine love for this industry - A knack for building real human connection - A mission to help people find work they love - And a fierce-as-hell single-mum determination to make this business fly So, if you're in marketing and you're thinking about your next career move, or you're building out a team and want someone who's actually lived it and absolutely gets it - you need to call ME!
